Run Wild

Based off of the song Run Wild by For King and Country

He sit in the cell, knees up to his chest, his chains clinking a little as he moves his arms. He sighs and lays his head on his knees.
Regret had visited him earlier. Made him remember that he had put himself in this cell. He thought it was fine, the door was open. But then one day, he came. And then he slammed the door shut while the boy was inside, he was beaten and told he could never ever leave.
His voice was taken from him, where he would usually use his words for his freedom, he was unable to speak. He was left voiceless, unable to voice his freedom. A tear falls from his eyes and he wipes it away.
He looks out the window of the cell and his eyes watch the stars twinkle outside. If only he could speak, he would be free. He bows his head.
I need help, please, I can’t stay here any longer. He prays, looking up to the sky again.
Suddenly, a burning sensation started in his throat, and then it clears. His eyes widen and he opens his mouth, a small noise comes out. He finally whispers- “Free.”
The doors of the cell open suddenly and he gasps in disbelief. But then he looks down at his shackles still binding him. He had grown used to them these past months, enjoying them almost. He sighs a little, feeling desperate.
While he looks down, they come off, cracking under the weight of something. He looks up and sees him. His Messiah, his Savior, with his hand outstretched to the chains, his power and love crushing them.
“Love.” he says simply, and vanishes. The man thinks for a moment. Standing slowly, he steps out the cell door and sees other people around, in different cells, a key hanging from each wall outside the door. He hears moans and groans, coughs and wheezing.
Love he thinks. Rushing to each door, he opening each one , and with the key outside each door, he frees each person. His love so strong, it breaks their chains.
“Run Wild!!”he shouts and runs out the doors of the prison. To live free, love strong, running wild.
